The Box of Wonders in Your Pocket
This is a small booklet gives a basic introduction to the workings of
a watch and answers many questions that people have. It was
written by De Forest Hulburd in 1922 while he was the Vice
President of Elgin (and the son of the then current President).
He laster went on to become the President of Elgin and was
instrumental in switching Elgin from a pocket watch company to a
wrist watch company.
There were at least 15 editions of this book dating from March of 1922
to September of 1931. I have three different copies and they
are all slightly different. The pages 26 through 35 were from a
1931 edition, which is in a slightly different format and has a
few extra pages.
